Lee Ann Gerhart holds a BA in accounting from the University of Texas (Austin) and is a Texas certified CPA. She began her career as a gas royalty auditor for the State of Texas, followed by 10 years with Exxon, leading audits of pipeline companies, onshore and offshore exploration and production facilities, and gas processing plants. In 1990, Ms. Gerhart moved to Alaska as a business analyst for Alyeska Pipeline. She has had an adventurous oil industry career ranging from gliding through alligators in Louisiana bayous to being chased by rabid foxes in the Arctic. She has owned her own business since 1995, providing analytical business services, looking to improve business processes and efficiency through computer automation.
Ms. Gerhart began website development in early 1997 as a volunteer in a successful consumer revolt against union control of Anchorages local electric cooperative. She again volunteered her services in cyberspace war against the CARA land grab for the American Land Rights Association. Her website development experience has all been OJT, learning by necessity in the heat of battle.
Other public service includes teaching English with Anchorage Literacy Project and in Xian China with Global Volunteers.
