Mike Hardiman is President of Hardiman Consulting, a lobbying and public relations firm based in Washington, D.C. Founded in 1999, it specializes in land use and environmental issues. His clients have included the American land Rights Association, individual property owners having regulatory conflicts with federal agencies, the American Conservative Union, and the American Trucking Association.
He served on the staffs of three members of Congress over the
course of ten years and worked for a state legislator in the 1980’s.
He was instrumental in winning passage for legislation that exempted
new construction of apartment buildings from municipal rent control
ordinances. He also won ballot placement and statewide voter approval
for an expansion of property tax deductions for housing co-ops.
He assisted in the writing and editing of This Land is Our
Land, a book on private property rights by Congressman Richard
Pombo published by St. Martin’s Press.
He is a veteran of many local, state and federal political campaigns,
including initiative, referendum, municipal incorporation, and
other special district elections. He has acted as a campaign manager,
fundraiser, ad copywriter, field organizer and volunteer coordinator,
and is frequently consulted on federal campaign finance law matters.
Mr. Hardiman was a co-founder of two volunteer landowner groups advocating private property rights and multiple use of public lands, in New Jersey and California. He is Treasurer of Constitution PAC, a political action committee advocating private property rights, and a board member of the Blue Ribbon Coalition PAC, which promotes recreational use of federal lands.
