Eminent Domain to acquire the historic D & H Railroad Station beside the old D & H Canalway at Port Ben

The Town of Wawarsing announced that it will use eminent domain to take the privately owned railroad station from unwilling seller Herter Diener to complete this portion of the trail in the vicinity of Ellenville. The trail the entire 108-mile distance from Kingston to Port Jervis is being developed by a consortium of government agencies and non-profit groups along the old D & H canalway and railroad route.
