“This sign was on private property within Denali
National Park, Alaska, adjacent to the only road into the park.
The sign was put up by Sam Koppenberg, a gold miner who had his
property taken. It is not known how the Park Service got Sam
to take the sign down. “It wasn’t up long,” wrote
Steve Hicks, who sent the photo on October 29, 2003. Steve said,
“A similar sign placed in the right place could generate
some real negative press for the Park Service.” |
