Realtor Magazine Cites Patricia Callahan and LaGrasse on Conservation Easements
The October issue of Realtor featured an article “The Cost of Open Space” by Pat Taylor cautioning the industry about the use of conservation easements. Patricia Callahan, president of the American Association of Small Property Owners and a member of the National Advisory Board of PRFA, was quoted length, including her warning that, “Unless you have complete control over your property, you’re basically a tenant.” The article quoted Carol LaGrasse, president of PRFA, explaining the potential legal pitfall posed to landowners by being advised to accept inflated appraisals for their land to reap a tax benefit from conservation easements.
