LAND expresses concern over Minnesota Governor Pawlenty’s
expanded Conservation Reserve Enhancement Plan. Landowners are
having negative experiences with perpetual easements. LAND favors
short-term easements that can be renegotiated on a regular basis.

N.Y., October 18, 2008)
The City of Red Wing, Minnesota, imposes administrative search
warrants (searches without probable cause) on rental properties,
collecting photos of the interior of residences (including even
the inside of closets), and intending to post these on the Internet
for police use. The right to privacy, to be secure in your home
from searches without probably cause, is guaranteed by the U.S.
Constitution.

Wave of UNESCO World Heritage Sites Proposed” - By Carol

This spring, the National Park Service announced that 36 locations
in the United States have been proposed for UNESCO World Heritage
Sites, adding to the twenty that already are designated in this
country. Such international recognition potentially threatens
private property rights because preservationists could exploit
the designation to stop the use of land in the region just beyond
a site’s borders.
