Senator Betty OC. Little Honorable Senator Betty OC. Little, We the residents of the Town of Horicon, the County of Warren and as residents of the Adirondack Park regret that a Senator from Long Island should tell us what is good for us. We regret that they know more than our own Senator. They tell us that we can not use ATVs on the roads in the Forest Preserve to go fishing or hunting. May I suggest that maybe we could help save Long Island. We should eliminate all use of vehicles going North and South on Long Island. Only permit vehicles to go East and West, and assign North-South roads to be trails. This way no one should have to walk more than 10 or 12 miles even though these roads are now trails. That is what you propose for us in the Adirondack Park so it should be okay on Long Island. Just think of all the road maintenance money that you would save. Whereas the good Senator from Long Island has proposed that anyone caught using an ATV on a road in the Forest Preserve, that that ATV be confiscated and sold. May we suggest that in order to have everyone comply with the new rules on Long Island that anyone caught going North or South on the roads, now trails, that their cars be confiscated and sold to help out the State. Respectfully yours,
Ralph W. Bentley |
