Organization Goals
The Adirondack Defense League was formed at approximately
the same time as the Adirondack Park Agency, and has been a strident
opponent of further land use restrictions. The ADL was one of
the first groups to go public with warnings that the APA would
impose harsh restrictions on private land use with implicit approval
from the state.
The ADL has connections to the Adirondack Solidarity Alliance
and the Alliance for America, two other well-connected rights
groups. Gerald Edwards, a former ADL board member, authors portions
of the ASA newsletter.
1999 Update
Frank and Audrey Casier, who are getting along in years, still have a deep interest in private property rights, and send an occasional letter to the editor to the North Country newspapers from their second home in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Frank spent many of the prime years of his life trying to fight the APA.
