The Meaning of the Champlain-Adirondack Biosphere Reserve

Peter LaGrasse presents a map study showing state acquisition by fee simple and conservation easements of major commercial timber holdings during recent years, plotted on the Adirondack Park Agency map of private and government-owned land. The study shows how the state is closing up the major gaps in state-owned land, making one huge solid core area that is being depopulated in accordance with the Champlain-Adirondack Biosphere Reserve program, which requires no human influence within the core area.
