PROPERTY RIGHTS FOUNDATION TO EXHIBIT AT ARMS COLLECTORS' FAIR
The Property Rights Foundation of America will host an exhibit at the NEACA Arms Fair and Militaria Exposition on Saturday and Sunday, January 30 and 31 at City Center, Saratoga Springs.
Current issues facing property owners, local communities, the multi-generational hunting culture, and the ability to hunt within the Adirondack region include the preservation of private landownership and hunting clubs within the continually expanding three million-acre "forever wild" Adirondack Forest Preserve.
The Property Rights Foundation will display and distribute information about its work to preserve the hunting culture from 1998, when the State acquired the lands of Champion International, to the current transactions between The Nature Conservancy and DEC pertaining to the former Finch Pruyn lands. Both these tracts involve extensive hunting club leases. The exhibit also will feature information about the state's policy of eliminating sportsman's access after acquiring land.
We are having an impact! The state decided in November to issue a revised conservation easement allowing 220 hunting camps to stay on leases on the former Champion lands.
The Property Rights Foundation is a not-for-profit, voluntary, educational organization dedicated to preserving private property rights and the American tradition of private land ownership. The Foundation is based in Stony Creek (518-696-5748), www.prfamerica.org.
The New Eastcoast Arms Collectors Associates, NEACA, is a membership organization based in Mechanicville known for its arms fairs (518-664-9743). www.NEACA.com.
